Avoid Danger from Big Bad Wolf Fans: PFA Considers Adding Protective Netting on Pitches

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Following the coin-pelting incident that injured Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand in last Sunday’s Manchester league derby, the Professional Footballers’ Association is now thinking of surrounding pitches with protective nets.

Gordon Taylor, PFA chief executive, said that such move is necessary to protect the players from erring fans seeking to leave a footpr1nt in matches through pitch invasion and throwing random objects on the pitch.

Daily Mail pundit Jamie Redknapp, for his part, called on players to restrain from taunting opposition fans so that they could avoid flying objects from angry fans. He said that players have to be responsible for their actions on the pitch.

Rising from 9GAG Ridicule: Torres Brace Help Earn Benitez’ First Chelsea Win

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Fernando Torres’ efforts to improve his disappointing form at Chelsea paid off as he scored a brace on Sunday’s league game against hosts Sunderland 1-3.

The Spanish striker opened scoring on the 11th minute and followed up a 45th-minute penalty to bring visiting Chelsea 0-2 by the end of the first half. Compatriot Juan Mata found the back of the net four minutes into the second half.

Adam Johnson’s strike on the 66th minute proved inadequate to match Chelsea’s dominance at the Stadium of Light. The Blues’ league victory is a first for interim manager Rafael Benitez, who constantly sought to leave a footpr1nt at the club since his takeover from Roberto di Matteo.

Speculating WhatsApp: Chelsea Will Not See Return of Avram Grant

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Despite persistent reports, Chelsea have not reached out to former Avram Grant regarding an assistant role to interim manager Rafael Benitez.

Rafa went on without winning his three games for Chelsea after taking over from the reins of Roberto Di Matteo. Fans showed disapproval of the Spaniard’s takeover, noting his days as Liverpool manager in which his side had a bitter rivalry against the Blues.

Grant managed to leave a footpr1nt of positive impression to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. He led the Blues as their interim manager in 2007-08 and brought them to the Champions League final. Under him, the Stamford Bridge side never lost a league home game.

Must Be Sturdy Like AFF Suzuki: Ferguson Complains about United’s Defence

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson lamented his side’s apparently weak defence after their 4-3 win against Reading.

The seven-goal thriller saw all of the goals come in during the first half, with United trailing twice before Robin van Persie’s 34th-minute winner.

Ferguson noted that the match featured United’s “worst defending of the season”, as his side have easily conceded three goals, initially compromising their chances to win w1th ease.

Another Twilight Impasse: Chelsea, Fulham, End Match in Stalemate

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Rafael Benitez’ Chelsea have yet to see a convincing victory following another goalless draw at Stamford Bridge over Fulham in Wednesday’s Premier League match.

Fans lowered down their booing on Rafa after greeting him with widespread dissent on his first match against Manchester City. Chelsea held ball possession at a better rate than Fulham, yet the hosts failed to convert opportunities, particularly from Ramires and David Luiz.

Fulham threatened to win w1th ease through John Arne Riise, who almost slotted in chances through the hosts’ woodwork. Hugo Rodallega attempted to score, but his effort ended in Petr Cech’s save.

Just Like Beating Ayuni in Runescape: Sunderland, QPR, Frustrate in Goalless Draw

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Sunderland’s meeting with newly managed Queens Park Rangers in Tuesday’s Premier League ended in a 0-0 draw.

Manager Harry Redknapp, QPR’s new boss, pressed his side to create more chances to score in order for them to move up from their dismal 20th-place position in the league table. Yet, his side failed to win w1th ease.

Showing sheer determination, QPR’s Djibril Cisse attempted to find the back of the net thrice, but failed in all chances. Adel Taarabt and Jamie Mackie saw their shots fended off by keeper Simon Mignolet.

Sunderland had their nearest opportunity to score from Steven Fletcher, whose shot ended up on keeper Julio Cesar’s save.

Speeding Mitsubishi Mirage: Tottenham Trounce West Ham

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Tottenham Hotspur emerged the stronger side on Sunday’s Premier League game at White Hart Lane, beating visiting West Ham United 3-1.

Jermain Defoe served as the Spurs’ main man with his brace. He scored the first one a minute before half time by rebounding Gareth Bale’s bar effort. His second one came on the 64th minute shortly after giving away a penalty for an unfair challenge on James Tomkins.

Bale helped the Spurs to win w1th ease through a successful effort that amended his failed attempt. Andy Carroll scored his first for the Hammers eight minutes before stoppage time, but his side did not manage a turnaround.

Is He Joining For Champions League Football? Chelsea Prepare £30 Million for Everton’s Marouane Fellaini

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Chelsea are preparing to spend money anew on new players as they target Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini for a £30 million price tag in January.

Fellaini’s flexibility is his most attractive factor for Chelsea, as the player has abilities to figure as a forward, defensive midfielder or even in the back line. The Blues will line up an attractive promise to the 24-year old big-haired player – the opportunity to play Champions League football.

Di Matteo is planning to increase his side’s strength to win w1th ease against opponents to win both the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Skyfall Mission for Mancini as City Manager Seeks De Rossi’s Signature

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini heightened his efforts to make his side Premier League champions again this season as he told director of football Txiki Begiristain that he wants to sign Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi in January.

City initially sought De Rossi’s signature last summer but the midfielder proclaimed that he plans to stay at Roma for the long-term. New reports show that the player has a recent interest in a transfer away from the Italian capital.

Mancini plans to win w1th ease against league rivals to retain the title, yet so far they are behind top one Manchester United and Chelsea in the league table. Their lack of attacking sharpness in games serve as a reason for their less-than impressive unbeaten run.
