Agent: Lukas Podolski will not leave Koln in January due to Euro 2012 hopes
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal but the forward is apparently reluctant to move midway through the season
Lukas Podolski is unwilling to move clubs during the January transfer window because he does not want to jeopardise his Euro 2012 hopes, according to one of the player’s representatives.
The Germany international has been repeatedly linked with a move away from hometown club Koln in recent months, with Arsenal reported to be keen on Podolski.
However, Kon Schramm has told the Guardian that it is “all but impossible” that any interested party will manage to persuade the player to move midway through the season as his sole focus is on maintaining his current good run of form ahead of Euro 2012.
"Koln has priority right now; we have time [for everything else] in the summer," Podolski’s representative said.
Podolski is out of contract at the end of next season in what is his second spell with Koln after leaving in 2006 to spend three years with Bayern Munich. - http://www.goal.com/
